Sorry if the link is already on the forum !
Wednesday night, Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam played It Happened Today in Calgary, Canada. He seems to be very affected by the news (like us...).
Nice tribute.

Thank you very much for this link. That's beautiful.

Good stuff!

Merci Ced007.
Very touching.
Very touching.
It's the poison that it measures
Brings illuminating vision
It's the knowing with a wink
That we expect in Southern women
It's the wolf that knows which root to dig to save itself
It's the octopus that crawled back to the sea.

"R.E.M. as decided to put it down for a while..." - I wish that would be true!
"After all, HE has done today..." - so touching indeed with that adapted lyrics!

Wow, what a performance. It feels like this song was written for others to play it after the break-up.

Thanks Ced007. A lovely tribute.
So the only live performance of IHT is a cover.
Lucky Calgary PJ fans. I hope they appreciated it.

Changing the tense and pronouns was pretty amazing:
"Closing on a promise after all they've done today, they have earned their voice"
"Closing on a promise after all they've done today, they have earned their voice"

That sounded so beautiful. And of course that brought tears to my eyes. I only wish the guys have said they are putting it down for awhile.

I had forgot for a minute that Eddie Vedder was on this song...I was thinking "Wow, he is really nailing this!" Then I remembered lol
But anyways, this song made me tear up driving home from work the day it happened. And this just did again. Very very nice.

I'm not the biggest fan of Pearl Jam but it's wildly cool that they acknowledged it.
I hope R.E.M. realize in the last couple days since they announced their demise how massively important they were/are to a TON of bands, and to their own fans.
Oh, and "It Happened Today" makes me cry each time I hear it.

Why not ! It's an excellent tribute but the fact that we will never listen CIN songs in a R.E.M. live is very very bad thing :/
