Hear, hear. I expect they'll be getting together from time to time both to perform and to create new music. It's hard-wired into them by now. In the meantime, we're a big part of their legacy. Ethan built a very nice clubhouse for us here, with the help of many dedicated and talented people, and there's a large, diverse group here of smart, caring, inventive, artful and thoughtful people. Yet another nice reflection on this extraordinary band of musicians.

I love the idea of a group get-together. That would be fun.

Am I the only one eager and curious to hear what their last set of new songs sounds like? Or who gets a sad twinge at that word, "last"?

Yep, me too.  I think it was about 9 months ago since I was here.

I have to say I understand and respect the band;s decision.  We will always have their great music to remind us of the good times we had.

As long as it's not the weekend of 11/11/11 - 11/13/13.  All hotels are sold out for some football game.  Auburn is in town that weekend.

They did time it exceptionally well - coinciding the breakup with the new FB upgrade sent me back to these boards faster than a very fast thing.

I'm fine! Lots and lots of work though, but I can happily say that I've been doing what I dreamed of doing last time I was here, so that is good.

And yeah, that's quite a blast from the past. I feel like this is our very own version of the Homicide Life on the Street movie. I just feel I need to be here for the final hurrah, you know?

That's quite a good idea. I did a little search for such "parties" on friday/saturday but didn't find any, so I had my private one with talking and watching a DVD.

When you are (were?) an R.E.M.-fan you’re now to ask: “What next?”.
After 15 comes 16. But that band set an end to that and now nothing is as it was.
Well, first you have to sort your thoughts and later all the R.E.M.-stuff standing and hanging around your home!
For example their 15 albums: You could sort them chronicly by release-, buying- or favorite-order. Or alphabetically: eight, eleven, fifteen, five, four, fourteen, nine, one, seven, six, ten, thirteen, three, twelve, two.
So what comes after 15? It is album 5: “Dead Letter Office”. Somehow appropriate…
This might vary when you’re counting in German, Dutch, Italian etc.

Same with the singles and the songs themselves:
