It's funny to see the other's lists, after you created your one. I feel like I can't relate to anyone's list on the last 1 1/2 pages (best fits: Kimo, I think). Strange how much the taste differs, when it comes to R.E.M. fans. Quite nice!

A hard list to compile. Every album has at least one song I love and a few more I really like, even Around The Sun. Since the split, I have revisited Collapse Into Now quite a few times and it has moved up in my estimation, from a very good album to one of the great R.E.M. albums. To me, it has the diversity of New Adventures, at least some of the beauty of AFTP (Uberlin, Oh My Heart) and the rocking raw qualities of albums such as Monster (All The Best) and Reckoning (That Someone Is You). Unfortunately, the trio of Up / Reveal / Around The Sun sit at bottom for me. They all some great songs - but for me - it was the production that killed these albums. Thank goodness they dumped Pat McCarthy and went with Jacknife Lee for their last two albums.

Well, I am not sure I've ever really forced myself to commit to a ranking, and if you asked me in a month, a week, a day, it might be different, but let's see what I'm feeling at the moment:
