The favorites from the beginning survived, and survived easily. Just to make sure everyone gets a chance, this poll will stay open for a week. Champ will be crowned on August 23. Happy voting!

fall on me, without hesitation for me, a songs which reflects the sound of good old R.E.M.
find the river is a good song for the end of AFTP... jangling guitars, harmonies and michael cryptic lyrics are missing.

Had to vote for "Fall On Me" here. It is the quintessential R.E.M. song, replete with rare vocals from the great Bill Berry. "Find the River" is great too, and perhaps the best song of the Warner Bros. era.

It's so hard to choose between these two - but Find the River has to get my vote. My first 'favourite' R.E.M. song and one that I'll never grow tired of.

Nightswimming... deserves a quiet night

Despite it's not even the best song on the album it comes from (Nightswimming is that), I voted for Find The River. I could have easily voted for Fall On Me too so that's how hard it was for me to decide between these two.

I'll have to think about this one a bit more and maybe have a few more listennings too - it's a tough one.

I love them both, in different ways. Like my 2 children haha. Just cannot choose, so will support the eventual winner :)

Fall on me, all the way ;)

Tough choice though, Find the River gives me chills each and every time I hear it. A masterpiece.

It's the poison that it measures
Brings illuminating vision
It's the knowing with a wink
That we expect in Southern women
It's the wolf that knows which root to dig to save itself
It's the octopus that crawled back to the sea.

As brilliant as it is, I'm a little surprised "Find the River" is winning, let alone easily.
