I had one of my Rethuglican friends fall for a story I posted from the Onion, I still haven't set the record straight.
"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."

Typical gotcha type fake news stories.
Some kind of singing. They sound like all kinds of people, right? And then it says another child is born in India every time you call this number, right? Does that make any sense to you?
And the guy that spoke--I don't know who he is. But that--it doesn't sound like no answering machine, right?

I cut & pasted this from a Facebook acquaintance's news feed a few weeks ago (after removing all names & profile pictures, of course), and now every time I hear Harry Connick, Jr.'s name mentioned (which, admittedly, isn't often), I start laughing.

That one made it to the Literally Unbeleivable site today. It's somewhat depressing that a Congressman would actually believe something like that, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. From reading about him, he seems to want to believe that very badly.
It's also amazing how many people seem to take that teen euthanasia story seriously. Seems pretty funny and way over the top to me.
You may have noticed, but the same guy has a relatively new site called leasthelpful.com where reviews are posted (mostly Amazon 1 star) that seem least helpful. Pretty entertaining.
