What in the holy hell?
I just logged on here and noticed that both my avatar and profile picture have somehow defaulted, without me doing a thing, to the ones I had over a week ago, or more. Why would this change without me doing anything to change it? Anyone else having this problem?

I tried to log in yesterday but the board was down due to server change... maybe it has something to do with that.
It's the poison that it measures
Brings illuminating vision
It's the knowing with a wink
That we expect in Southern women
It's the wolf that knows which root to dig to save itself
It's the octopus that crawled back to the sea.

I had to refresh the cache. That probably caused it. Probably some other temporary blips.
I had to finally move to a non-WBR server. I'm back to paying for Murmurs again

Okay, after a few attempts things seem to be back to normal. Thank you for addressing this, Ethan, and thank you for ponying up for this site. I quite like it.

I'm aware I brought that on myself.
(There are only a few things I truly hate in this life, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of them).

You really hate it?
Even the pelvic thrusts that nearly drive you in -say-say-say-say-say-sane?
*feels sad and budges up next to Lori and Hez on the Rocky Horror fan bench*
ETA- Molly, have you seen the old (very) interview of Michael in high school when he and a bunch of his friends went out in full Rocky Horror regalia?
A must.

Yes, I really, truly despise it. It reminds me of every theatre kid I ever wanted to punch in the mouth. (And this is coming from someone who did theatre work, backstage, and who married a Theatre Major).
And yes,I've seen the video.
The only "must" is that we must never speak of it again.

I've never seen rocky horror ps.
I get alot of flak for having such a cringeworthy reaction to it. It's like everyone in the world loves it, like Crocs (oh, but they're so comfortable!) and Beyonce.

I am approximately 138 years old, as is Etty. Maybe it's a generational thing? (Also the first thing I thought of, Etty!)

I wouldn't be seen dead in a ditch wearing Crocs. They are repulsive, even for old ladies. I don't care how fucking comfortable they are, I detest them.
Beyonce, not my kind of music but you can't deny the talent. My kids like her. Well, my daughters do. My son likes ear breaking noise.

hmm, I think it's on purpose. I wondered about it when I saw that youtube of Stipe and it reminded me that Stipe is the around the same age as my oldest brother. I remember my brothers being into Rocky Horror and doin' the Frank n Furter drag thing. I was still a little kid and my brothers were in their mid to late teens and most everything they did seemed daft, so by extension for me, the RHPS was daft.
As an adult, I do actually find men who parody women by dressing in drag pretty obnoxious generally - I don't mean trans-gender people when I say that - I mean the theatrics of men getting dressed up in a way that over-accentuates their idea of 'feminine'. As Germaine Greer says if you go around putting black shoe-polish on your face and behaving like a 'minstrel' people seem to understand that you are doing something demeaning to black people, why is it okay to basically do the same thing to parody women? So that's why I have never gone to see RHPS as an adult, because regardless of the context of Frank n Furter character [I don't know if he is trans gender or whether he is taking the piss], I know I'll have to endure a whole bunch of dickhead aussie blokes dressed in drag.

I've never seen it nor do I have the desire to. I've seen some clips from it, that was enough for me. Plus, I understand the whole enjoyment of it was seeing it in the theatre back when it first came out. That time has long since passed.
"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."
