Just wondering what everyone elses favourite lyric phrase is from collapse into now? mine is definitely:

"I'm not giving up easy, I will not fold,
I don't have much, but what I have is gold"

"I'm nothing but confused,
with nothing left to lose"

"The winners write the rulebooks, the histories and lullabies"

"It's sweet, and its sad, and its true,
How it doesn't look bitter on you"

"I heard what you said
picture brass rings in your head
while gold and bronze are bon bons
brass is mixed with lead."

-From Me, Marlon Brando, Marlon Brando and I.

Some of the most Stipean lyrics I've heard in a while.
I have no idea how people function without near-constant internal chaos. I'd lose my mind. ~ Dave Eggers

The 2nd verse from 'That someone is you'

A beacon of hope from an album of terrible lyrics.

All of Me, Marlon Brando, Marlon Brando and I, and particularly this line. The way he sings it is amazing. Best R.E.M. song in years.

"I don't have to feel so wrong now I wake up dreaming saffron, turmeric and brass."

"I rang the church bell 'til my ears bled, red blood cells."

"With the fury lock of Sharon Stone Casino, Scarface Al Pacino, '74 Torino."

Top three so far. There are plenty more I can't bring to mind right now. That first one give me chills though, not sure why.

"So over me! So pie in my face! So talk to me! Tell me where to place this in my Quasimodo heart!"

"It's sweet, and it's sad, and it's true, how it doesn't look bitter on you."

"Hey, now, count a thousand-million people, that's astounding, chasing through the city with their stars on bright"

And pretty much all of "Blue" :D

"if you buy that, I've got a bridge for you" - Just sounds like Michael is putting a hand on your shoulder and saying this.  (if that makes sense)

"I want Whitman proud. Patti Lee proud. My brothers proud. My sisters proud. I want me. I want it all. I want sensational. Irresistible." - Very strong

"Help me off to sleep, and take me deep again" - I always get a strong visual with this.

We got three kids. Oldest is getting married next month. Middle one is in college. Youngest going to Israel for 9 months. The song's kinda sappy but this lyric nails the way I feel about it all

And the road ahead of you.
I can not tell a lie
It's not all cherry pie
But it's all there waiting for you
Yeah you
