Thinking of everyone there.  Japan has the best anti earthquake/tsunami engineering in the world, but the forces are so powerful there is only so much you can do.

My heart goes out to the people in Japan. This morning I cried because of what happened. There are a lot of Japanese people living here in my city in Germany (Düsseldorf) and I imagine them having family or friends affected. It's horrible.

Yes, it's been a horrible start to the year in the Asia Pacific, and the crisis in Japan is by far the worst of it.  I'm afraid to look at the news these days, and I feel like that there are no words to describe what is happening, but my thoughts are with the people over there.

Hi I haven't been around here for so long but one of my mates from here sent an email to me, so I pop in and just want to let those who recoginize me that I'm fine. But as you all may know northeast part of Japan is devastated. Millions of people missing and we have no idea how many of them will be on the whole. The earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear power plant. OMG.

I'm glad to hear from you, rebekah, thank you very much :) It seems that all I can do is to spend days "business as usual" mentality.

What a shame what happened in Japan.  The videos and pictures are heartbreaking.  And now they have to worry about these nuclear meltdowns.  They really should have thought about why it would of been a good idea not to build nuclear plants.  You can only blame the government there for that one.

I hope the survivors are being given some kind of shelter and taken care of.

I was looking on the Japanese Embassy UK website to see if there was a Book of Condolences that could be signed  - I can't see any reference to one, but they did have the following link for donations. I can't imagine how people cope in these situations, but I hope that they can find the strength to do so.

I'm sorry for all those people who died or lost everything. Nuclear meltdowns are the main problem now: it's time to stop with the use of nuclear power everywhere!

The Oh My Heart song kind of fits the Japan tragedy. I think of that song when I see the footage.
I read that there is political unrest and a civil war in Madagascar but I've seen the film 6 times and there isn't.

I know what you mean, am listening to that now. I think people feel so helpless and don't know how to help. Personally, I think the Red Cross do great work and donated using C.A.'s link. Sometimes that's all we can do......
