Some of already know this, or may have spotted it in the UK press. But for most of you, this is the shock news about one of our members and administrators, Julia ( Quiet-Cats ). I‘m sure anyone who has met Julia will appreciate that she loved her family more than anyone or anything, would never do anything to hurt them and that a huge injustice has been done.

My link

The crazy and sad thing is that if she didn’t care so much she’d be at home right now.
Unfortunately she has lost her job (with imminent promotion), she’s been separated from her family (including her elderly mother who is reliant on her), and of course her daughter Tabitha who needs her mum more than ever right now. The repercussions are horrific and I just can’t imagine what Julia, Tim and Kit are going through. I spoke to Julia last week while she was out on bail and I can assure you that she has still loves Tabby with all her heart and that Tabby too knows everything her mum did was in her best interests. As a parent myself I can well understand how a difficult daughter can stress you out and situations can escalate. Julia and I spent many hours in queues discussing  the joys and difficulties of our teenage daughters!

At the moment she and Tim need all the support you can give them so please take a moment to think if there’s anything you think you may be able to do to help. If you’d like to drop a card or message to her, please drop me a pm or contact me on Facebook and I can send you her contact address.
Thank you, Sheila

The link you posted didn't work, so maybe this one will: http://www.mirror.co...15875-22873831/

This really is such a sad story. If I had been in her situation, I would have done the same thing.

Sheila, I am so shocked.  I had read this in the press but it never occurred to me of course that it was "our" Julia who I did not know well but had met briefly in concert queues.

Please pass on my support and best wishes - as a mother of teenagers as well I can only think I would do anything to stop them destroying their lives.

This is insane. Sure, Julia did something that in the strictest sense is breaking the law, but the judge is also required to exercise common sense! She should be acquitted, no question.

A travesty of justice if ever there was one. On the same day in that paper a man who robbed a service station with a knife got 9 months.

Surely this injustice must be appealed?

Quiet Cats, a HUGE R.E.M. fan and Murmurs stalwart is rotting in jail and hardly anyone seems to give a shit.

Im fucking disgusted at the lack of compassion and support shown to a moderator of 10 years standing, a member with over 3000 posts, a FAN, one of US.

I hear plenty of bleating and do gooding when it comes to Oxfam and Amnesty Inernational on here, but not a fucking word when it comes to helping our own.

Can someone point me in the direction of organising an online petition. Can someone post the address of the prison so we can bombard it with gifts and letters of support. Can someone help me with setting up a facebook?

Does Ethan know of this, can REMHQ kick in some bucks for an appeal? Can we make this world news and get aome action?

I cant do it on my own. If it was *** sitting in the slammer for the same thing, protecting one of his children, you would all be frothing at the mouth with rage. Theres no fucking difference, we are a faamily or we aint.

The media will help if we ask.

So I ask you all to put in one giant effort, for friendships sake and make a difference.

Oh Sheila, That's devastating. I don't know Julia and can only imagine her hell. I'm sure most mothers would do anything in their power to protect their kids from the evil of drugs. I work with a woman whose son died 3 years ago after overdosing on heroin and  she is still in hell.

Please pass on my support. The bit of me who still clings to the belief that we have a fair justice system believes she will surely be released soon, I only hope she can stay strong and wish the whole family well'

Robbbin, people do care and are doing things beyond what is seen in this thread.  If you pm Sheila, she will give you Julia's details. It's better that way than paste it all in the thread. That way, we know who is asking for her address?

There is an online petition here
