Wow, thanks for that.

I love "Alligator Aviator Autopilot Antimatter".

The rest  are pretty "meh" names for songs. "Every day is yours to win" sounds a bit cringy for my liking and my intial thought is I don't like the only other noticable title in "Me, Marlon Brando, Marlon Brando and I".

Still good job its about the music and not about song titles. The excitment grows!!

These titles strike me as amusing.  What the songs are like is another thing entirely. :P

Yay for no record title song!

Lots of song titles similar to older ones.

The proof will be in the pudding - so who knows what they'll be like!

Wow. When reading a title like "Every day is yours to win" or "Oh my heart" or "All the best," I suppose it is good to think of "At My Most Beautiful," "You Are the Everything," "Everybody Hurts"...all of which would sound pretty flat if we didn't have the songs in mind.

Uberlin?

The only unsettling thing is the playfulness of some of these sitting right next to simple pop or love-song appeal of others... Not unsettling in a bad way, either.  A sort of thrill of wonder...call it hope?

i agree there some amusing song titles in the bunch. even for rem, there are some odd ones.  but we can't judge the songs by their titles, and i'm hoping it's great music.  but the alligator and brando ones really seem far out there, as far as titles go, and i can only the assume the music will somewhat match.  and all the best, oh my heart and that someone is you sound like richard marx songs or something, but if others who have heard them say it's good stuff, then i'll take their word.

Good point, i'm pleased about that!

I bet it is a lyric though.

Disvoverer, nice choice for the opener.
Great titles so far, but I cant imagine to hear Stipe singing "Mine smell like honey"
Hard stuff for a man in his fiftys :D
"All the best" and "Every Day Is Yours To Win" sounds like simple straight out up tempo rocker, not bad for me :D

What a great gesture to release the track list in the fanclub newsletter first! I'm ashamed to say I hadn't even opened my newsletter yet because I didn't expect this kind of surprise.

My favourite title has to be the 'Alligator Aviator Autopilot Antimatter' which sounds pretty cool. Some of them sound a bit emotional, like 'all the best' 'Oh my heart'. 'Mine smells like honey' sounds funny, it makes me curious. That someone is you sounds romantic.

Oh well, it sounds very eclectic indeed and makes me curious about the album.

Now let some snippets of the songs be released.  :)

I just saw the date Feb 7. on stereogum beside Collapse into Now, suggesting it as a release date.  Am I just behind the curve, or has that date been announced?

not in the slightest.

feb 7 is NOT release date.

Other than that, enjoy the mystery and don't judge books by covers or songs by titles.

Not intending to, though it is fun to guess what things sound like at this point. :)

I pretty much burst out laughing when I saw Mine Smell Like Honey. It's hysterical. The title.
