Louise Wener, of Sleeper, has a new book out. The following excerpt from the Times recounts her time touring with Blur and contrasting that with opening for R.E.M. on the Monster tour:

Interesting, in that I like both bands, but Blur always did have the "kings of brit pop" attitude going on. It's nice to see Stipe & Co portrayed in such a flattering light, especially given that Blur was patently not.

That article was a great read, it reminded me when REM came to Sydney for the ATS tour, Michael introduced Katie Steele from Little Birdie, who were 2 acts before REM came on, she later commented what nice guys they all were and that they had great food for all back stage, no wonder we all seem to be able to relate these guys, they are very down to earth people, thks for posting the article.

The excerpt made me want to read it all. I wish I could buy this in the U.S.
