I suppose we should get him a Porsche so he can have a proper mid-life crisis...

50 is the new 40... I'm certain I saw a piece on CNN about it a week ago...

A cyber-scrapbook with little notes and pictures from murmusians or is it too cliche(d)?
Andrea--
¿Qué soy cuando me comparo con el Universo?
Ah; the Andrea blockage. Sorry to hear that the creative juices have ceased to flow and a danged beaver has dammed the rushing waters of positive thought.Twistedkitemike
Bless you, my child, for though you have sinned against the Dutchman, you have lightened my spirit and enabled me to leave the path of terror for the verdant fields of vengeance, though with no blood on my hands. For once. In The Corner

That is a lovely idea. Maybe a contribution to an Athens charity that the band has supported, or how about the fund set up for Vic Chesnutt?
It all feels slightly sad, like those long stretches of dead-mill brickshells encrusting the Amtrak line in Virginia, the overgrown ruins of old factories so plaintive that it just makes you want to move to Athens, Georgia and start a band.

Lemme know what's going on with this. We're wanting to write something up for his birthday in Flagpole's blog and it'd be great if I could include the charity...
Judge not lest ye be judged, what a beautiful refrain.

..or maybe something which would support the health of our earth, crowned by a line of one of his wonderful lyrics?

..it's certainly too little time now and most probably a bit silly... I just had an idea of creating an appropriate message to address to him, then each of us who'd dare would create a short film snippet of himself, speaking just one word of that message so that we could afterwards put all pieces together and end up with a nice little video message, accomplished probably with some donation for some of the mentioned purposes above...
Could at least be a very funny result :)

I'll do this for Nuci's Space. I'm seeing about setting up a form for it to track donations from here.
