I'm just wondering at the beginning of Man-Sized Wreath...
...there's Mike who said "there are no B-sides anymore" and he's followed by another person who said "And they’re no A-sides even". Is he Bono  ? I think he's Bono, because of the Dave Fanning's inteview ( ).

It was. I still remember it like it was yesterday.
"Of course you liked early R.E.M. best," I want to say. "You were 17 years old and drunk on tequila and in love with a girl who didn't know you existed, and 'Harborcoat' summed up your melancholy mood like it was written just for you."

"Why on earth would Bono be mic'ed up while sitting in the balcony? That is Scott speaking.
Now, is Scott just repeating something Bono yelled from up there? I have no idea, but I guess that's possible given what Michael said in the interview. I don't remember hearing anyone yelling that from the balconies though, but do remember Scott saying that line and Peter following up with "they're all c-sides (seasides, geddit?). Possibly Bono did yell that out, or Michael got the story mixed up somewhat (wouldn't be the first time), perhaps Bono just urged them put the song on the record when he met them at the after show party or something."

"Conventional wisdom would dictate that when the singer is trying to hit the high note and not quite getting there, the last thing you should do is tickle him! No tickling the lead singer when he is reaching for a note that he can no longer hit, OK?" JMS, post-audience visit during The One I Love in Bergen, 2008

Thanks for the explanation. That voice didn't seem Bono's one very much, but the Dave Fanning's interview gave me a wrong idea. Anyway, I'm glad that Bono helped to save Man-Sized Wreath :).
