Hi,

I recently came across excerpts from the legendary Fox, Atlanta '89(when they played Murmur and Green in their entirety, back to back) and the 40 Watt, '92 Greenpeace shows on youtube. Do you, or someone you know, have copies of the whole of these shows that could be posted to DIME? They would be very much appreciated...SORRY TO KEEP ASKING

Many thanks,

Damian

I know that the Fox Theatre one from the Green Tour was on Dime and on the old Murmurs tracker long ago. I never picked it up so if anyone else can reseed on Dime, I would also pick it up.

I have never seen the greenpeace concert footage available anywhere, only audio.

"Of course you liked early R.E.M. best," I want to say. "You were 17 years old and drunk on tequila and in love with a girl who didn't know you existed, and 'Harborcoat' summed up your melancholy mood like it was written just for you."

The LEAF Benefit show is what your are after, I did a cover for the DVD

http://www.remcovers...=classic#leaf89

and the 92 Greenpeace show one of my fav recordings along with the borderline gigs is definitely worth tracking down.

This show were recorded using a solar powered record van and some tracks where released as b-sides.

The funk version of Drive from this show was on In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003 (2cd edition)

I have both shows.

I can post the whole LEAF 1989 show on my YouTube page if there's enough interest.

Cheers,

Ironically, I was cleaning up my hard drive last week and deleted the LEAF show because it was WAY to shaky to enjoy. Do you guys have a steadier one?

Martine asked if I could post the LEAF show a few weeks ago and I have dumped the DVD to my HDD i just need time to seed it. I mainly do this on weekends as I can leave my pc on the whole time.

I'll try and get it up Friday night (Australian time).

Grenpeace 99 is one of my fav bootlegs, I'm not sure if I have a DVD of this. So if someone else could post.

If you're not successful, you may well find yourself getting a visit from this man:

"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."

Sorry was planning to post on the weekend but I spend both days working into the night on a promo video for a client, but I'm hoping to get it up soon.

my only concern is I think it will be banned if its posted on dime.

"Alternate recording sources of any officially released performance, unless the artist's published policy for trading permits collectors to continue trading them after another capture has been released officially"

I'm not sure but I though some tracks were released as b-sides or something...I might be wrong?

Actually, now that you mention it, wasn´t this one of the two shows used for Tourfilm?

In that case, could you please please please put it on Pando? Maybe?
I have been SO looking forward to this one....:(

The tourfilm footage was shot over five nights. it isn't known which tracks were from which night. i think we'll be safe to put it on dime. could we at least try? if not could we pando or snail mail trade...
