AFter 14 years and about six months recently of attempting to find the sheet music (of which I was unsuccessful), I finally had my ink applied.

I went to three artists before I decided to go with the third ones who suggested that the Ric be part of the design. Originally, it was just going to be the lyrics.

World Leader is my FAVE song. It has always spoken to me, right from the beginning. "I sit at my table, and wage war on myself" is me. I have a really bad habit of beating myself up for everything, everything is my fault, etc. "It seems like it's all, it's all for nothing" is my coming to the realization that this is a poor use of my energy and I really need to stop doing this.

Also, I ordered my Rickenbacker 360 in JetGlo on Friday.

Let me know what you think.

Really nice. So you had Peter's Rickenbacker taken off the stage in Finland so that you could have it copied for the tatoo!?!?!:D

Yup, it is. It had to be in order to get the detail on the Ric in. When they put the stencil on it had the fret markers included, but my guy just couldn't get them in (too small).

Weird, I just got a Rush one like this with the double-necked Ric and lyrics to 2112.  I've already had Fugazi and Byrds ones done on my calves.

Not a tattoo person myself (too squeamish), but I admire a nice one on someone else. Very cool one, L. Quite the statement!

I've always loved World Leader Pretend, from the first. Great song. Have you head the "Words and Music" interview disc the Boys did coincident with the release of Green, as a Warner Bros. promo, with Julie Pannebianco (sp?). Different members discuss each of the songs on the album. Michael's thoughts about WLP are intense, and Bill's explication of the cricket in the intro on "Everything" is so sweet and charming it's priceless - vintage Bill. If you don't have a copy, I recommend finding and getting one. I have a vinyl copy rattling around in storage somewhere.

spelling

I looked for it,
And I found it,
Miles Standish proud,
Congratulate me. ...

Answer me a question,
I can't itemize, I can't think clearly,
To me for reason it's not there,
I can't even rhyme ...

Got this done yesterday, still a bit sore! I've been wanting to get the lotus & dragonfly for ages, & wanted an REM lyric too. The line from Belong is a bit random, but I like it! Am very happy with the result! :D

Since there are a lot of REM tattoos threads in TEP, I'm making this thread for all of you people to share your tattoos with the world.

I'm also merging the old threads, so you'll probably see your posts here.
