Taped from the front row. This time they did not have PA under the stage so this recording doesn't have much bass. There is a sample in the comments.

Aaaagh, have tried to download this but my old laptop wont let me. Ended ub being directed to site and buying expensive software to unclog my computer!! My son has just shouted at me and made me promise never to buy anything online again without consulting him first!
Am such a technophobe:o but thanks for link anyway. Iwas there and would have loved to download this as souvenir. How I envy all you computer literate people!

so where are you at? you got the torrent file from dime, finished downloading, and now have all the flac files on you PC? That seems very fast!

Flac files are lossless audio files, meaning there is no data lost in compression (unlike mp3) this is the format 90% of online trading takes place in. All you need is the codec and they will play in most audio software

Its ok, Im a mod on this forum so its my goal to help.

All computer media files are generally encoded using a codec, basically its the 'language' they are made with and for you computer to be able to play the file it needs the same 'dictionary' to decipher it.

Don't know if that analogy worked but anyway, a file is compressed using a software and you need the same software installed so you can play it back, in this case flac.

the flac format is used are used because its provides the best quality and the smallest size.

You other option is to post a B&P (blanks & postage) request in the wanted forum, that way you send someone a couple of blank cds and they send you the burnt show.

Not sure what info you already have but not all media players will play flac files right away.  I think Winamp is one that will.  If you have winamp, try using it to open the files.

You will probably  want to decode the flac files to another format for use with CD players or ipods..  I use FLAC frontend to do this. It's pretty straightforward to use.   You can download the program free from http://members.home.....speek/flac.htm.

Ann, if you want I'd be happy to send a you a copy of the Madrid show in mp3 format :) If you don't mind doing so just pm me your address and i'll pop it in the mail.

Sibko, I was quite happily downloading FLAC files and converting them on my old PC running Windows XP. Then I got a new laptop last week with Vista and it refuses to allow me to convert the files from FLAC to WAV or whatever. It gives me an error message--I'm sorry I can't remember what it was and I've wiped all the FLAC files off both PCs so can't check.
A wee bit of googling revealed this seems to be a known problem with Vista--any help would be much appreciated! It's a (cheap)Sony Vaio if that makes any difference

Thank you, Sheila

Thanks Sheila, thats very kind of you. Am hoping Rory will be able to make sense of all the useful instructions I've had here. He's out playing a gig with his band tonight and we'll be out watching him but hopefully tomorrow... I really am embarrassingly thick about computers but if anyone needs help with personal care for the elderly...:)

Thank you, Sheila

Just to clarify, you having trouble playing FLAC's, There is a known VISTA problem with installing FLAC, there s work around where you just download a different installer package with just the codec you need to play the files.

I can link you if you still need help.
