That's a pretty cracking setlist. I'm waiting for a friend of mine to come online and tell me what he thought, but I can't see him being anything less than bouncing after that one.

I'm still buzzing after that performance! :D

Best setlist ever!
We were at the barrier on Peter's side after sitting for 3 songs. Country Feedback was amazing, I've alway wanted to hear it live. My 11th concert, and the best setlist I've ever heard. :)

Just listening to the Holiday fan club single from 2001 with Let me In on it.
A live rendition of "Let me In" exactly they way they performed it last night.
I forgot how good that song sounds stripped back & Michael's voice is amazing esp at Twickenham!

Did anyone else think there was something not quite right with Perfect Circle? While of course I was absolutely thrilled to hear it, I dunno, there seemed something slightly off about it even after they restarted. It seemed maybe Michael was a little out of tune with the piano, or they were doing it in a slightly uncomfortable key for him? Either way it was a bit odd.
Still, great to hear it anyway.

Who gives a flying f**K! Yeah it was slightly ropey but how the hell do these guys keep changing the set list night after night? I am still on cloud nine after last night as it knocked the hell out of Southampton which was a great gig.

I'm with you there, Southampton was great but last night hit it straight for six with a converted try. Michael did seem a bit uncomfortable on Perfect Circle, even after the false start, I wondered whether he felt they weren't quite rehearsed enough to perform it, but who cares, it was wonderful anyway. I'm still buzzing and that it's raining today makes last night even sweeter. Absolutely cracking, I'll be talking about it for months.

Seen them loads of times, but last night was special.
Highlight for me was Country Feedback.
Despite the huge amount of echo going on, it was a great evening.
Can they top this ?

Was also woken by probably the same thunderstorm today - but only seems to make yesterday even more special. Can only back up all the superlatives so far - think we need a word even more descriptive than awesome. I was blown away - having wondered how they could better Southampton and boy, did they better it. Helped by a brilliant crowd and that rare thing this summer - a hot sunny day. We were right in front row this time - amazing. Nearly caught Michael's mouth organ - but was such a scrum that in the end a steward handed it a lad next to me who can only have been 9 or 10 but was having a whale of a time and it made his day so that was great too. Thank you REM - you've made my summer.

you must have been right next to me, I was standing right next to that kid! There was a wierd bloke in a green shirt trying to argue with everyone at the beginning because they had allegedly pushed in front of him at some time in the previous hour!
Amazing night - about six songs in the girl next to me said what an amazing setlist, and it kept getting better and better from there!
Country Feedback, what can I say, my moment of the night by a mile, nearly in tears.

They were superb. The fifth time I've seen them live.
Perfect Circle brought tears to my eyes and the gig will stay with me for a long time. The amount of energy and enthusiasm is unparalleled.
Thank you R.E.M.

I can only echo what every one else has said. Awesome gig.
I've been waiting since Earls Court in '99 to hear Country Feedback again, every gig I've been to I've been willing them to play it but it has never happened until last night :) It seems to have been one of those weird quirks that, although it is played reasonably often, London gigs seem to missed out. Amazing version as well, guitar solo was staggering. I certainly hope a recording appears.
I hadn't been following recent set-lists so I was completely floored by the inclusion of Let Me In, I honestly thought that was a track I would never get to hear live. (If anyone can point me in the direction of the 2001 fan club version that was mentioned earlier in the thread I'd be eternally grateful).

I think last night having been the last UK show... may necessitate another trip to the continent :)

Wow ! what can I say ? Yesterday was my first R.E.M. concert (I hope that it won't be the last one  ) and it was just... ahhh... i'm lacking vocabulary... let's say AWESOME (euphemism...)
I come from Algeria as a tourist (student as well), perfect timing, and i have to say that i had the time of my life... I enjoyed each song (especially Man Sized Wreath, Disturbance at the heron house, perfect circle (wow), LET ME IN (gorgeous)...
Fan club members are very nice, I have to say, thank you R.E.M. for this stunning show !

I think Perfect Circle is just one of those songs that just won't sound the same outside of a recording studio. Maybe it was just too much stuff going on in the background, I know that was the case with Peter's Country Feedback solo... IMO too noisy with too many other instruments happening that took away from it compared to the awesome one in Germany '03 and Perfect Circle DVD.
I agree, a really great setlist that had a lot of oldies or rarities (Country Feedback, Heron House, Fall on Me, These Days). Only thing I wasn't too fond of the Accelerate stuff since it's one of my least favourite R.E.M. albums but I knew what I was getting going in since it is the Accelerate tour lol
