there has been another gig in sweden that has been switched also from a stadium to an arena.. i think the promoters rather than r.e.m have been picking the venues the promoters being Live nation...is it they rather than group that have been over estimating ticket sales in certain parts of the country????

I guess it means - "sorry you can't go to the Cardiff show - but here, go to Twickers or Southampton or Manchester and get a fiver off your ticket price"!

What happened to Brum this time round? I saw them in 2005 there..pretty small tour in the UK.

It looks like it , doesn't it?

Makes me wonder if the NME have got it all wrong and the bit about 18,500 sold is wrong. Or maybe I'm missing something again?

Was that LiveNation? - what arses!  I guess they'll still sell you a ticket - then tell you it's sold out and offer your money back and discounts at the other shows (possibly increasing sales)- do you think they'd give you the "handling and postage" fee back.  Sound like a racket to me!

Or is Seetickets one of those "on-selling" sites - be wary, the sellers may have already got their money back!

EDIT: - just went to Livenation/ticketmaster - and they are no longer selling tickets - despite the fact they are promoting the show!

i would take it from that that the gig is sold out and that people r going too miss out...surely r.e.m can sell more that 7 1/2 thousand tickets i would be very surprised if they couldnt do that!

I bought my ticket from the fan club presale in February, and booked a hotel (next to the Millenium Stadium) the same day. I'm going to 4 shows in that week, and have booked the week off, so if i get told that i can't have a ticket to the smaller show, then I'll be very angry!

I'll just quote myself here...

My reply from Sandbag:
________________________________________________________________________
We have been guaranteed by the promoter and all other parties concerned that tickets bought through the fan club hosted by Sandbag will be honoured and we have already been allocated tickets to cover all our orders. As you bought from us will get tickets; unfortunately this is not the case for all ticket holders who bought elsewhere.

I hope that put your mind at rest. We’ll let you know when tickets are sent out from us via email.

As far as Sandbag are concerned, Fan Club and presale sales through them will be homoured.  It's just a case of waiting to see when the tickets will be sent out.

Hope that helps.

Have just received my tickets for Cardiff- it would have been nice to have had the £15.95 'Service Charge' and 'Processing Fee' refunded as a gesture of good will for the 'inconvenience' - or am I just being too picky?
Oh well- Roll on Cardiff.

I got my tickets through post today, from Ticketmaster, I am pleased that it has been changed to CIA, although feel sorry for people who will miss out.  For those of you who want to sit, there aint much seating, I would say at the most 400 up on the balcony.

Has anybody missed out or been told they have missed out on ticket allocation?

"Of course you liked early R.E.M. best," I want to say. "You were 17 years old and drunk on tequila and in love with a girl who didn't know you existed, and 'Harborcoat' summed up your melancholy mood like it was written just for you."
