To be honest with you, the worst showing of the Spain Italy match was the officiating which I thought was the worst of the four Quarterfinal Matches.

It's still soccer. ;)

I actually never did mind the World Cup. I watched all the quarterfinal matches so far. I actually thought that Spain was pretty strong and were defintely the better team yesterday.

I thought that the ref played into Italy's hands yesterday as there seemed to be a lot of grabbing by the Italians inside the box as well as some really ridiculous injury timeouts on Italy's favor that helped slow down the game.

I disagree.  How the referee in the other quarter-final didn't send off the entire Russian team, that was a bloody disgrace!

You have to feel sorry for the Italians though.  Imagine that.  You're playing for penalties, and then you lose in penalties.  ;)

You should've seen some of the pre-round matches. Some unbelievably terrible referee decisions there. But at least the matches were more interesting.....

Oh and footie, soccer, whatever... Fuaßboi haaßt des! :D

Do not feel sorry, Italians never played for the penalties: they were just unable to attack due to their weakness.

Speaking of dives, Villa's dive in the box was well-deserved yellow card.

Toni did not live up to his billing as one of the most formidable strikers in Europe. It's hard to pinpoint exactly why, really, but Toni didn't perform and neither did Italy... Donadoni's squad selection has to be questioned, he should've had Inzaghi in there, so he could change things if needed... Toni should've been hauled off in three of the four games but there were only deep-lying forwards in the vein of Cassano and Del Piero et al. Put simply Donadoni had no plan-b for when Toni didn't perform and he only performed against France and even then it was a mediocre one, his others were dire.

Germany-Turkey should be interesting, not least because of the history/heritage.... I fancy Germany to win out by the odd goal, a Klose header maybe.

Russia-Spain will be a lot tighter than their group game suggests. I can imagine this being as dull as Spain's QF against Italy, there's a lot at stake for both teams. I fancy Russia to win though.

Here's looking forward to a Turkey-Spain final then, given that my predictions have been as dire as Toni's performances.

I think from the last 4 teams ... German is the big Favorite.
I come from Germany, and all people the Games with Croatia andAustria was bad Games.

But the Game to Portugal was the best Game from all EM Games.

I think the final is Germany vs Russia and Germany wins after Penalty ...

cheers

if we do indeed win it will of course be after penalties as tradition demands. still... we don't have it pocketed yet, don't jinx it now! ;)

Maybe Germany will adopt the Kenny Everitt formula for dealing with Russia, should they face Russia in the final:

Congrats Germany!

Now I hope Spain wins today (despite their insane coach).
