"Nothing at Dublin even got close to matching that. While songs have grown on me such as Living Well’s the Best Revenge and Horse to Water, and even Superserious to a degree, this is a song that in 20 years can be the next So. Central Rain or Begin the Begin"

From what I heard of the studio version on Q radio, the studio trumps live big time.

It was on Q The Jury. I've posted this in another thread. But here you go:

"You can listen to the show here: http://promo.q4music...cast/jury.shtml
The snippet of Hollow Man is at 21:24 and the snippet of Man-Sized Wreath is at 31:20
I have to listen to the whole Hollow Man to judge it but Man-Sized Wreath sounds fantastic."

I think the studio version will fit very well after SNSS to slow it a bit down just before Houston. I think Hollow Man is catchy and definitely has its place on the album.

Thanks for the link!

it sounds good on first listen .... but why is there a kettle boiling in the background when the guitar kicks in? that's an annoying noise

Fuck me! I thought I was a harsh judge but are some of you for real?

Its not quite Harborcoat but it certainly beats anything on the monumentally disappointing ATS.

And by the way a little birdie tells me the second single is Man Sized Wreath.

was it the same bird that is squeaking in the background behind the guitars?

I think it gets better and better each time you listen to it :)

I think the only problem with the live version is that it sounds like Mike and Michael are competing for the lead vocal during the chorus. I'm sure during the next few shows they will sort it out.

while I know this same thing happened when a 30 second snippet of Leave was released in 1996, and it was a highly compressed real audio file, but people said "it sounds flat, they've lost it. they shoudl just give up.", the judging of an audience recording of a song as a judgement of the song on the record still amuses me.

Hollowman ain't my favorite, but its one of the most sincere and personal and catchy songs they've done in a while.

Sincere without being cheeseball :)

Thanks for the download.  It's a great song.  I love how it starts out slow and kicks off faster.

to you maybe it isn't. but to remring it is and one can't discount that or say that it's not true. just because you don't see this song as no fall on me or begin the begin doesn't mean that others can't.
