i come from birmingham, alabama.
i'm surprised to find SO MANY r.e.m. fans, and i've lived in alabama my whole life and have only met one.
i've been into r.e.m. since last year, and before that i knew of them because growing up i remember the one i love being on the radio constantly, and i loved the song as like a 6 year old because i thought it was about vikings.
anyway nice to meet anyone who talks to me!

ah, not much, its dull, and all any radio station will play is christmas music because everyone in alabama is either christian or pretends to be christian, and i'm not, so there isn't any decent music on the radio. it's really hot here actually, it's like 60 degrees i think.

hahaha, we have different kind of degrees LOl, 60 degrees for us are 140 °F :p:p

celsius and metric system here, yes.
despite all the problem our nation has, yes, i like living in italy. i'm a painter and i love the art here. almost every artistical thing was born here. and i love our history. the places....

thats so funny that you quoted that song, cause, i swear every signle band that comes here insists upon playing that song. and they usually don't know the lyrics, which is great. i hate alabama, mainly because of simply people's attitudes. here, people are very christian, very conservative, and very homophobic. when something is bad, it isn't bad, it's "gay" to people here which i hate. and almost everyone is like that.

dont think that everywhere everything it's different. it's almost the same everywhere....

really? i haven't traveled much, so i don't know much aboutthat kind of thing, but im sure there is SOMEWHERE where people are decent, i don't know.

This usage of 'gay' is quite common now, very much so in England, most people don't mean offence and you know the ones who do. I would reassure you that the world is not full of intolerant fundamentalist! you'll find a lot of good people on here for instance.
