Except for Pet Sounds, all of them are worse than any R.E.M. album, in fact Around the Sun is so much better than Stadium Arcadium or Slim Shady LP! Both RHCP and Eminem are really, really bad!!!

That is a brilliant idea - I never thought of completely ignoring ATS as if it didn't even exist.  I think I'm going to do that now too as it will save me a lot of pain....

Of course, you're probably scratching your head wondering what ATS means...;)

That's how I feel about Monster.  

I've been re-visiting the whole catalogue since I got new speakers, so I'll craft a revised list one of these days, I doubt Monster will budge from last place though.  The biggest suprise for me is that Up will be vying for my top three, I reckon - my love for that record has been steadily growing in the last year or so.  

I revisted Reveal and Out of Time this weekend and, shocked as I am to say it, I found myself skipping about a third of Out of Time and I found a lot more to like in Reveal, though Beachball is still such a dreadful song to me - fucking awful.  I decided to give Reveal another chance after Michael's rough, rehersal version of Chorus and the Ring was posted at HQ.  I think  that is what caused me to contemplate Peter's contributions to REM of late. I think that lyrically there is a lot more to interest, and more sincerity in recent releases than on Out Of Time, granted it's not sung with the same intensity or conviction, but the music isn't providing any drive, it's superficial and droney.

Anyway, I'll keep an open mind about Monster too, I'll find it, play it and give it some more time before I post a list.

ATS has dropped like a stone since I had it 3rd a couple of months after release.  I still prefer it to Reveal though which I have never been fond of. Reckoning and NAIHF are the 2 that have shot up my rankings in the last couple of years.
