To all above: I don't think I was tactless at all.  There was no swearing, name calling, bitching, etc.  We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

My tone was probably insensitive by Murmurs standards (because anything outside of fuzzy bunnies, dandelions, Hugh Laurie wankfests and g-rated flirting with Corpus has been deemed out of bounds over the last 18 months).  But I guess I just don't really care sometimes.

edit:  I mean, let's put all the cards on the table.  The entire premise of this thread is moronic.  Lee talks to someone else on IM for the first time in two years, and the other person drops off unexpectedly.  What in the world would drive Lee to take that personally?  The guy isn't new to this whole internet thing.  He's been around for years.  I sorta thought that this thread was a joke from the beginning.  Its that stupid.  Second: The. Guy. Can't. Type. Or. Communicate.  If he's honestly taking the IM incident personally, maybe that would be a good place to start to fix it.

Don't forget: he asked the question and threw it out there.  Asking a question on a public MB doesn't guarantee you're going to like every response you get.

The fact that my short response raised such eyebrows is scary.  This place used to at least have a spine from time to time.  Ugh.  Do you people even know what passes for civil discourse on other boards?  I'm talking about nice, fun boards, too.  Not cesspools.  Threads like this and users like Lee would be destroyed.

Or am I the jerk because you think I picked on a kid who rides the short bus?  Is that what this is about?

It has? Did I miss a memo?

Listen, Lee's typing drives me crazy, and I have had problems reading his posts. Sometimes I just don't because they give me a headache. But we all have our issues. I'm kinda bitchy and have a tendency to go off on people. I also can't type and have a bad habit of leaving out words that change the meaning of whatever I am trying to say. Hez can't type/spell. Heather uses too many damn smilies (god, I hate those damn smilies). Just deal with it.

Lee: I don't know what you said wrong. Probably nothing. IMing isn't always the best way to communicate: misunderstandings, lost connections, etc. Email is the same way. I have made plenty of friends through IMing, email, etc., but face-to-face communication is still the best way to go.

I was on IM a lot when I was out of town for work all the time, but I was never good at it. I'd wander away to do something else sometimes, but mostly it was difficult keeping a dialup connection going in a cheap motel. Donna got pretty used to me just disappearing.

Sam,you compared yourself to a laxative.I think thats a rather appropriate description of yourself.I will agree with you on one part. The thread is moronic. It was late at night and I had too much to drink.I don't why I posted this, but did.I did not take it personally that the lady left.Don't presume or think you know me,Sam.You don't know a damn thing about me or my life.

You're a real piece of work,Sam.You berate me and then martyr yourself in the top post on this page.It would be hilarious,if your posts weren't so misanthropic,anti-social and sociopathic.Let me ask you a question,Sam.What do you do at your workplace,if you receive a memo that has grammatical error's? Do you rip them open a new asshole too? I doubt it.  You wouldn't make a senior partner with that type of etiqutte,huh...I suppose it's ok,to be an asshole over the internet.I surmise your reasoning(and I don't know you either),it's just the internet,it doesn't matter.Think about what,I've said.I know you won't.You'll just think up some type of sarcastic, belittling one-liner.Thank God,I'm not that insecure.

You think,I'd be intimidated on other boards? That is hilarious. As I said in an earlier post. You don't know me at all.First of all,I'd have the common sense and intelligence to not frequent a site that was seriously inhospitable.I don't have the time or inclination to engage in a pointless debate with some idiot that is so insecure, that he/she gets their rocks off scolding someone.I usually don't have the time to discuss something so pointless, but am making an exception in your case,Sam.

I plan to write any thread or post that I choose and am not changing my writing style for anyone. If administration wants to ever ban me for anything,I write,I'm fine with that also.As I said before,if the thread is moronic or the grammar is flawed, read something else. It's that friggin' simple and I'm not spacing after every sentence, either.

Just to set the record straight...I don't want to be misunderstood, misconstrued or whatever...I don't pen my hopes, dreams, aspirations of freindship, love, lust or intricate discussions of,"Gilligan's Island" to the internet or an instant message.

Congratulations, Lee.  You just posted back-to-back posts that were 100% understandable.  I read them from end to end, and enjoyed doing so. hahahaha

I'm not the grammar police, and nor have I ever said you should be banned, so just calm down a bit.  For what it's worth, I wasn't the only person in this thread who said your usual posting style is difficult to decipher. So don't single me out as being the only one.  Maybe you think I'm an asshole, and that's fine if you do, but I wasn't the only one to raise that point.  So do with that as you wish.

I'm glad you enjoyed my posts:rolleyes:.I never said you thought I should be banned for incorrect grammar.Try reading and comprehending what is said, before commenting. I said that because I would choose to write whatever I want.A thought occurred, there are guidelines here and I can't say anything I want.I was just saying if administration deems any post inappropriate and cause for banning, they can do so without any argument from me.Admittedely,I have made this mistake more than once here also.I just think there are vastly more important issues than a person's grammar.Iraq,Darfur; people on here that have cancer. But since you were mostly civil and tactful with this post,I will consider using more correct grammar. This isn't the first time you've said something about this.A 3rd time, possibly? I got scolded last autumn from a lady with the same grievance.I do think there are vastly more important issue's...I will work on this very insignificant issue, only if written to,in a tactul and civil manner.

I'm calm about this.If I wasn't, you would defiinitely know.I don't know if you're an asshole or not.I think you could definitely work on your people skills as far as the internet is concerned.

To not be misconstrued once again...As far as important issues, this thread wasn't important. It was frivolous and moronic, but there have been plenty like that on the site.
