btw, oh most awesome host, is it allowed to mention other parts he has played too? a hugh laurie drool thread without the mention of, say, george or bertie wooster would be a very sad affair indeed.

Does this thread mean it's okay for a grown woman to have a mad crush on an actor*?

*I'm not referring to Hugh Laurie.  Not my taste, sorry.

But I haven't been in any movies, so you can't really call me an actor.

Not like Hugh Laurie anyway.
Some kind of singing. They sound like all kinds of people, right? And then it says another child is born in India every time you call this number, right? Does that make any sense to you?
And the guy that spoke--I don't know who he is. But that--it doesn't sound like no answering machine, right?

If an actor is one who throws out a lot of lines, then you're an actor.

All my posts reference the heart and soul of every person, tugging at the webs of significance in which we all find ourselves bound.

a) house on the simpsons?
b) hugh laurie in a harry potter movie? i'm thinking rufus scrimgeour...

can i have a witness?

chiara - that piccie claire posted is lieutenant the honorable george colehurst st. bartleigh from blackadder goes forth. blackadder was a bbc sitcom from the 1980s, totally hilarious, and the part of george was pretty much typical for the characters hugh laurie played back then - dimwitted but essentially good hearted upperclass twits.

Yes, it is. I didn't mean to restrain the appreciation to House and Laurie himself, so if you want to talk about any of his characters, that's ok. Even if you talk about the Stuart Little part, which I'm not particularly very fond of.

Never seen the show, but the melodrama of the commercials is enough for me.  ...next time on House...Dr. Fuckwad goes too far... "You'll have to sew that cat's ass to my rib to get me out of this operating room..."  Don't miss the most dramatic House ever- and then next week, an even more dramatic...

Dumb.

american house trailers must be interesting... ;)

dearies, would anyone have screengrabs from blackadder back and forth? methinks a picture of georgius resplendent in his ancient roman gear would enrich this thread immensely, especially as most people here have probably never seen hugh laurie's legs in all their healthy, whole and unscarred glory.

If all the girls love House, and all the guys find the show uninteresting and downright "dumb", then I maybe my vagina is really a penis.

Somebody please answer my question from a few posts ago.

i actually know a couple of males who love house (and are, according to my knowledge heterosexual), so what about them? i mean, my dad likes house. not as much as me alright, but he still likes it.

Ah yes, he must eventually be on the Simpsons AND in a Harry Potter movie. Scrimgeour might be a good choice, but how about Regulus Black? Assuming that he is the RAB from book six, he'll have to show up in the last book and eventual movie... I think he could play a good tortured character who went over to Voldemort's side only to eventually redeem himself by stealing a horcrux.

And I'll add a picture for good measure. **sigh**  (wipes drool off keyboard)

Also, vaguely related, I'm watching Bones and Stephen Fry is on it :D

*sigh* indeed. these eyes... they make a girl proud to be part of the blazing blue conspiracy, oh yes! :D regulus, yeah... i was thinking he'd make a good sirius the other day, actually. so regulus might be a cool idea. scrimgeour was more the result of... well, i was listening to half blood prince in the car the other day, and the loping grace, the keen eyes, the limp, basically house was walking out of the fireplace by the time stephen fry was finished reading the passage. admittedly, it might have to do with who was reading it too. what's he like on bones? i WANT that simpsons episode, it's totally overdue! i can see him bonding with lisa in a big way. i wish i could draw, put that mental image to paper.

How bizarre is it that I'm currently listening to Half Blood Prince too? Of course the version they sell over here doesn't have Stephen Fry reading it, a fellow named Jim Dale does it and he does a respectable job. I'd like to eventually get my hands on the Stephen Fry version just to have it.

Anyway, on Bones, he plays a very stereotypically British psychiatrist. The main male character on the show shot the musical clown head on an ice cream truck therefore he's in therapy to deal with his anger issues so he can get his gun back and go back on duty. Stephen Fry's character joked about how he tried to assimilate to America, he even drives a pickup and cooks meat in his garden (has a barbecue).

Come Monday, it'll be all right...
