Before my time I believe the BIll Poets had the then poems bound into a small book, a copy of which was forwarded via the fan club!

Yes,and I happened to run across my copy only yesterday.  What wonderful times those were, so much fun.

Remember Every Moment

Listen, there's music in the sky
Each star a remembered tune
Echoing from years gone by
Each night outshining the moon

I'll remember every melody
From Bill, each gallant beat
Which inspired ten years of poetry
And that is quite a feat

There's a symphony in each constellation
Each melody from afar
Each memory a consolation
So I’ll listen to every star

Each memory from years gone by
Is a soundtrack from years before;
The flicker fades to a fond goodbye
And I could not ask for more

Bill Poem #21092011

Georgia!   Antipodean Poetess Supreme!    I do hope Bill's liner notes in the upcoming release will inspire yet another spate of Bill poetry.  I'm still searching for the perfect rhyme for keister.

Bill, I miss you night and day
Ever since with REM, you no longer play
If I could see you again, I'm sure I'd be fine
So please consider playing with REM one more time

I'm home, sick and bored.
And what do my eyes see? (my inner eyes of course) The muses floating through the closed window!
and they strike me with a sudden inspiration
Bringing back the memories, the nostalgy, the good days in the sun...

Drip drip the autumn rain
It’s the end, it’s all gone
There’s nothing left but pain
REM? There’s none
There’s no summer, there’s no sun
We’re crying
Long for fun
Alas! The joy is dying
Suddenly, the ray of hope appears
The smell of hay
Comes from the barn that’s near
A new life awaits its day
It’s not over yet
emerald grass again will grow
nutritious sweet, you may bet!
n
ew bales will travel to the town
The tractor’s vroomvroom is the best
The smell of petrol and fresh oil
Bill will proudly puff out his chest
That’s my soil!

Very nice Poem Eva.  Reading this brings back old murmurs memories. I miss the old days a lot.  I even miss the drool pools.

Mabye I could take a stab at writing a Bill inspired Haiku or something about when I met him last year.  There I was looking at the framed R.E.M. pictures at the Cine' Theater in Athens on Nov 15 2011 near the entrance when no other than Bill walks in.  I thanked him for everything he had done with the band, and he said, "Things like this are always hard, I know how you feel".  He was just as emotional about his favorite band breaking up as I was.

Bill Poem No. 72 by Andrea.

Do they have frosts in Georgia?
Does farmer Bill have to contend,
With ground frozen so solid,
That metal tools will bend?

Frost on the ground looks lovely,
Sparkling, twinkly and bright.
But for a farmer in the morning,
It must be a distressing sight.

Poor thing you're still sitting there waiting ;)
Your poem is sweet. I think, farmers like winter as it means a little less work for them.
