it's about 1:21 long. Michael just hums. Sounds like an OOT or Green era...but just not sure. It sounds like the same four chords over and over again. moderately fast.
Sorry I can't help any more without some one hearing it I guess...can someone point me where I could find a list of instrumentals I could listen to?????? Thank you so much.

ok...I know this is hard based on the info I have given you, could someone point me to a place where all the songs, or just the instrumentals are listed and I may be able to deduce it from that info?
If it was a plcae where I could hear sound clips, that would be even better.
Thanks

i don't know about a place where you have all the instrumentals listed (with sound clips_, but that song is called forty second song and is indeed from the out of time period. i think it's an outtake and appears somewhere as a b-side. :)
to really understand me, you must read between the lines.
these are just empty spaces that mean nothing.

Not to be taken as sarcastic...
so that song is called the forty second song even though it is 1:21 long? I guess that makes sense to me since I know at some point in time I had a version of that song. Any one else care to confirm?
And thank you for helping me!

Yeah. It's Forty Second Song. They essentially play the "song" twice. (Doubling 40 sec gets you a minute and twenty.)
I believe it first appeared as a b-Side to "Shiny Happy People."
I liked it better than the A-Side.

I guess you meant tripling the song gets 1:20. But yes thank you, now I remember owning the Shiny Happy people single and that must be where this came from! So thanks for the confirmation and thanks for all the help!

 One minute and 20 seconds = 80 seconds.

I have it on a cassingle. One of the many great musical innovations of the early 90s.
"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."
