I got a new dvd from a friend as a birthday present and I watched it tonight. It's a beautiful swedish movie called "Like in heaven" (Sa som i himmelen). It's about a famous conductor who returns to the village of his childhood where he always was an outsider because he played the violin. He takes on the local choir and found his dreams come true.

It's a silent movie with gorgeous music - no special effects except the actors. I can highly recommend the movie. Has anybody seen it?

No, I can't talk or understand swedish (if I read it like in a newspaper I mostly know what it means). It was translated to german. If you are interested look for "Wie im Himmel". I was like magnetized and cried since I haven't cried for years for movie. It's very touching.

Same with me. It's a shame but there are not much really good movies which are worth to watch. If I have a look on tv I decide to switch it off. Just action movies, stupid reality shows etc.

Leigh (dorsetdinos) was going to watch 'the devil wears prada' tonight. Its years since I went ot the movies, but i'm quite interested in that. Hopefully she'll give us an update tomorrow, or later tonight.  I tend to watch the feel good, happy ever after movies. I don't like watching violence - theres enough of it in the real world

Me too. I can't stand all the "heroes" like Willis, Stallone, Schwarzenegger etc (:o  I don't know any of the recent "heroes"). I like movies with a message and sometimes just a sentimental love story.

Jude Law was in our local supermarket a few times, and I didn't know who he was, never mind what he looked like. Sienna Miller was with him, and I didn't know her either:o

apparantly an actress and she was Judes girlfriend for a while, till he had an affair with the nanny. This information was from my sons, who recognised him in the supermarket:o
