What a night. Ignoreland? Second Guessing? Time After Time? Most of Accelerate? The best thing about the setlist is how well Accelerate's songs just merged into the past. They sounded like they've been in the catalog for 15 years already.
The audience was younger than I remembered from the 2003 and 2004 tours, with everyone singing along to the new ones.
The band sounded tight. The lack of keyboards wasn't a bad thing, and Scott filling in through electric guitar gave formerly washy kind of songs (Walk Unafraid) a renewed vigor.
R.E.M. plays The Gorge today and LA next week. LA week will be very busy, so stay tuned.

I gather you ran in front of Yensen and I several times last night, (we were in front guitar station side) but I suppose you may forgive that my attention was on stage happenings. Glad you could make it out, I know we had a blast, and your photos look great!

I saw you crouching down in front of the barrier. That security guy seemed to be giving you a hard time didn't he? At one time you were kneeling right infront of me and my wife and I considered saying something to you but you seemed too involved.
