It's really difficult to see beach photos this time of the year... :(
Boracay Island is a very small island in the central Philippines, and the main beach of Boracay Island is consistently ranked among the top 10 beaches in the world by numerous travel magazines. The beach features squaky clean white sand, clear blue water, and an abundance of boats! It's not a place to party all night, although I suppose one could do so. Boracay's more of a place to chill out for a few days.
I've been fortunate to have visited Boracay 3 times, with the last being in 2000.
This is a typical beach scene on Boracay.

Kinda tough to see, but amongst these huts was the dive school where my wife and I took a 4-day course to get our PADI Open Water Scuba Diving certificates.
The diving around Boracay is ok, but Palawan Island is supposed to have the best diving in the Philippines. Palawan Island is a thin, cigar shaped island and is the westernmost of the Philippines' larger islands. Alot of bright torquoise blue starfish around Boracay though.

We stayed in the 1st cottage on the left side of this photo (Lorenzo Bungaloes). Kinda hard to tell, but there are a series of bungaloes along the path in this photo.

Boracay Island is too small and too hilly to have an airstrip, so the small plane lands at this airstrip at neighbouring Cataclan Island and tourists are then taken via boat to Boracay. I've heard that this airstrip is paved now.

That's it for the Boracay photos. I hope that people have enjoyed these pics.!
I obviously like Boracay alot as I've been there 3 times! If you find yourself in S.E. Asia, it's worth taking a few days to visit Boracay. I think that there are chartered flights direct from Hong Kong and Shanghai, but I'm not sure about this. I've always taken flights from Manila's domestic airport to Boracay. As always, the most up-to-date info. about Boracay is likely to be found in the Thorn Tree Forum of the Lonely Planet website ( www.lonelyplanet.com ).

I'm glad that people like these pics., and it's always a pleasure to come across another diver!
I've had some old negatives burned (archived) onto cd's the last few weeks, and I've made threads from some of these archived pics. Some of these negatives didn't "archive" well, so my slide shows are nearing an end! :o

Your pics are cool John, cheers.
I've never even considered a trip to the Philippines, but you pics and passion for Boracay are making me re-consider!
